And Ponchitta has explored the “new” in everything from fund raising and heart treatment to the formation of the Diocese of Metucheon, New Jersey—the first new Catholic diocese in the northeast in twenty years.
Ponchitta has served as an editor for Reader’s Digest, New York Bureau Chief of Johnson Publications, and Special Correspondent for CBS News. From 1973 to 1977 she was co-host of “The Sunday Show”; and from 1977 to 1980 she was co-host of “The Prime of Your Life”. She is listed in the Who’s Who of American Women and is extremely active in the community as a member of Mayor Koch’s Advisory Committee on Minority Affairs.
